What is Stippling?

Stippling adds texture to a firearm’s grip, improving control and reducing the risk of slipping. By modifying the surface with a custom pattern, it provides a secure hold and enhances overall handling. A properly stippled grip ensures consistent control even under pressure, leading to better accuracy, improved stability, and reduced hand fatigue. Whether at the range or in competition, stippling gives shooters greater confidence, precision, and performance in every environment.

Our Process

We use state-of-the-art laser technology to create clean, precise, and consistent stippling patterns that enhance both grip and aesthetics. Unlike traditional hand-stippling, our laser process delivers accuracy, durability, and a flawless finish every time. The surface is digitally mapped for pinpoint precision, and we customize patterns and depths to achieve anything from subtle texture to aggressive grip profiles. Controlled heat etching prevents surface damage, while the laser’s consistency eliminates the imperfections common with hand tools. The result is a durable, long-lasting grip texture that looks sharp, feels secure, and stands up to heavy use—giving your firearm a professional-grade, high-performance upgrade.

What kind stippling does Tailored Arms do?

If you guessed custom, then you are 100% correct! Our gunsmith uses stipples with various patterns and hatches and are able to tailor make a personalized grip for the customers needs. We start by hand sanding then wet sanding your current Glock-based pistol. During this time we create a template and pattern based on customer specifications. We then laser stipple the approved pattern/design onto your frame and with quality control checks making sure its a perfect stipple every time.
