Next-Level Firearm Protection
Cerakote: What is it?
Cerakote isn’t just a coating—it’s a serious upgrade. This advanced polymer-ceramic finish bonds to metal, plastic, polymer, and even wood, delivering unmatched durability and resistance to wear, corrosion, and chemicals. Originally engineered for firearms and now trusted across industries, Cerakote stands out for its ultra-thin 1 mil application compared to powder coating’s 2 mil minimum, preserving engravings and tight tolerances while boosting performance without compromising fit or function. At Tailored Arms, we specialize in precision Cerakote applications that protect your investment and keep your firearm performing at its best.
The Benefits of Cerakote
Cerakote and their gang of mad scientists made this product with coating that is insanely thin but also crazy strong. The thin layer protects the moving parts from normal wear and tear like shooting and handling. It’s hydrophobic so water doesn’t like it too much, and sand is right up there as well. This means it repels water and sand… among almost every other element out there. It prevents rusting and pitting of firearms and can last for years!
Application: How it's done
We follow a strict process when applying Cerakote to your firearm—disassembly, sandblasting, cleaning, painting, and baking. It may sound simple, but Cerakote requires expert precision and attention to detail at every step. Some formulas air-cure, but most firearm coatings need oven-curing, which is why we use full-sized, industry-grade ovens to achieve a hardened, long-lasting finish. Complete disassembly—not just field stripping—is required to ensure every surface is properly prepped. Each firearm is thoroughly cleaned, expertly sprayed for even coverage, oven-cured for maximum durability, and inspected against our highest quality standards. Cerakote isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about protection, longevity, and peak performance, delivering the best finish your firearm will ever have.
